ABOUT SANCLOUD
We leverage a spectrum of IoT technologies across hardware, software, firmware, connectivity and cloud to meet all types of IoT needs.
IoT technologies encompass an ever-expanding array of devices, sensors, communication protocols, gateways, servers, platforms and more!
There are many factors to consider when choosing the right IoT technology stack. The process begins by developing an understanding of the current and future needs of your organisation. Other factors include location, current systems, scalability, security and cost, just to name a few.
As established experts in the development and application of IoT and embedded software, hardware and connectivity technologies, SanCloud helps all types of organisation to navigate all aspects of the IoT technology stack. This also helps to vastly reduce the cost, complexity and delays involved in working with many disparate product and service providers.
Trusted by organisations across the world, we have extensive experience in the development and deployment of IoT programmes using the following technologies:
Our hardware technologies are primarily based on SoC microprocessors of XScale, ARM, x86/x64 architectures:
Firmware is the ingredient that makes our devices ‘smart’ handling communication with the cloud as well as performing real-time data processing. Languages include:
To enable our devices to communicate, aside from Ethernet and other physical connectivity we rely on a number of wireless protocols and systems:
Used for exchanging data between our fixed and mobile IoT devices over short distances
Operating on the IEEE 802.15.4 specification, we use Zigbee to create secure networks for low data rate transmission and low power consumption between our IoT devices
IEEE 802.11x over the air interfaces including compliant public WiFi services and Wireless Intrusion Prevention Systems (WIPS)
Operating on the IEEE 802.15.4 specification, we use Thread in the same way as Zigbee
Using the GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou systems, our IoT devices assure tracking precision in asset tracking applications across the globe
SanCloud offers 2G, 3G, 4G, and will offer 5G cellular connectivity in over 190 countries across over 500 wireless carriers
Long term evolution for machines (LTE-M) is a low power wide area (LPWA) technology which supports IoT through lower device complexity and extended coverage, while allowing reuse of the LTE installed base and a battery lifetime of 10 years plus.
Narrowband-Internet of Things (NB-IoT) is a low power wide area (LPWA) technology developed to enable a wide range of new IoT devices and services. NB-IoT improves power consumption, battery life, system capacity and spectrum efficiency, especially in deep coverage.
This is where all of the data from IoT devices is received, retained, managed, processed, analysed and displayed in a user-interface via a PC or mobile app. Our customers can choose to use their own platform or the SanTrack IoT cloud-based platform which can be customised to requirements.
